yes my name is Eric Santa the Sans from a PC and I want to answer a quick question about whether or not you can be terminated after giving two weeks notice theres an old adage at least theres an old custom that if you give your employee two weeks notice that you should be able to work the two weeks well Im going to give you um some not just a history but a little tip the employer does not have to accept a two weeks notice as soon as you give notice that youre gonna leave or youre going to final the employment the employee could terminate you now the question is are you entitled to work the two weeks no New York state is the employment state so therefore youre not entitled to anything other than to receive the payment benefits that the employer you agreed upon when you took the job the other question is well if the person terminates you do you have a legal claim uh no theres no such thing as wrongful termination in the state of New York now however if determination is based upon

Resignation date State the date that you believe will be your official leaving date which can be calculated by looking at the notice period stated in your contract. Typically it will be a month but could be much longer for senior positions.
If you plan to immediately start a new role afterwards, it is recommended to leave some buffer time in case of unexpected events or delays. An example effective date to include could be, My final day of employment at XYZ will be the 13th of November 2022.
Relieving date will be post resignation date after due completion of notice period. At times if the employee is relieved on the resignation date itself then resignation and relieving date will be same. But resignation date cannot be beyond relieving date.
Relationship damage: Changing your resignation date after giving formal notice and going on leave may harm your relationship with your employer and co-workers. Your actions may be perceived as unprofessional and untrustworthy by them.
Once your letter is submitted, it may be difficult to change your departure date since others schedules may be affected by your resignation. Make sure the date youre leaving is correct and that it doesnt conflict with your new job, move date and any other important dates.
