Convert a String to a datetime object using datetime.strptime() The datetime.strptime() method returns a datetime object that matches the datestring parsed by the format. Both arguments are required and must be strings.
To convert a string date value to a date: Use the isDate function first; or. If the report will be used in different regions, and in different languages, create your own string date conversion formula.
Convert DateTime to Date using a formula: From the Field Explorer, right-click on Formula Fields and select New.Answer: Add the DateTime field to the report. Right-click on the field and select Format Field. On the Date and Time tab, select the format that only shows the date value. Click OK.
Open the report. To open the report, load the Crystal Reports application. Refresh the fields in the report. Add the field(s) to the report using the fields explorer. Refresh the fields in the report. Add the required tables to the report. Create the links to the new table.
In the Number tab, select the option Custom. Then, under Type, enter or choose the format dd-mmm-yyyy. The same is shown in the following image. If the sample date looks alright, click OK.
Date range parameter in Crystal Report Create a parameter and named it DateRange. Select Date in date option. In Value Options: I selected Allow range values to true. In report- select expert - record clicked on tab and select the filed {test.date}
Select the cells you want to format. Press CTRL+1. In the Format Cells box, click the Number tab. In the Category list, click Date, and then choose a date format you want in Type.
To format = , provide a character string (in quotes) that represents the current date format using the special strptime abbreviations below. For example, if your character dates are currently in the format DD/MM/YYYY, like 24/04/1968, then you would use format = %d/%m/%Y to convert the values into dates.
If you have a DateTime field in Crystal Reports, you will see Date and Time tab option on the Format Editor when you right-click on the field and select Format Field menu item. From the Date and Time tab, you may select the desired format and select OK.
The international standard recommends writing the date as year, then month, then the day: YYYY-MM-DD.
