Hi! My name is Limor Fried, and Im an engineer here at Adafruit Industries. And this is where I do engineering and design, and I design circuits for fashion and music and technology. My name is Federico Gomez Suarez, and Im a software developer with Microsoft Hack for Good. And I look into using technology to help us solve some of the big social problems of our times. You may have heard that computers work on ones and zeros. Or you may have seen scary-looking visuals like this. But almost nobody today actually deals directly with these ones and zeros. But ones and zeroes do play a big role in how computers work on the inside. Inside a computer are electric wires and circuits that carry all the information in a computer. How do you store or represent information using electricity? Well, if you have a single wire with electricity flowing through it, the signal could either be on or off. Thats not a lot of choices, but its a really important start. With one wire, we can represent a y

Binary. Binary data is discrete data that can be in only one of two categories — either yes or no, 1 or 0, off or on, etc. Binary can be thought of as a special case of ordinal, nominal, count, or interval data. Binary data is a very common outcome variable in machine learning classification problems.
Binary data can have only two values. If you can place an observation into only two categories, you have a binary variable. For example, pass/fail and accept/reject data are binary.
The binary number system is the base of all computing systems and operations. It enables devices to store, access and manipulate all types of information directed to and from the CPU or memory.
When you classify or categorize something, you create Qualitative or attribute data. There are three main kinds of qualitative data. Binary data place things in one of two mutually exclusive categories: right/wrong, true/false, or accept/reject.
Solution 1 Read each line. Strip off the line header bytes ("S0", "S1", etc.) Pull out the in-file checksum, and convert it to a byte. Read each pair of hex digits into a byte. Sum all the bytes. Complement the sum. Compare the calculated value with the in=file value you processed earlier.
To read from a binary file Use the ReadAllBytes method, which returns the contents of a file as a byte array. This example reads from the file C:/Documents and Settings/selfportrait. ... For large binary files, you can use the Read method of the FileStream object to read from the file only a specified amount at a time.
Some examples of binary variables, i.e. attributes, are: Smoking is a binary variable with only two possible values: yes or no. A medical test has two possible outcomes: positive or negative. Gender is traditionally described as male or female.
In SQL, binary data types are used to store any kind of binary data like images, word files, text files, etc. in the table. In binary data types, we have an option like allowing users to store fixed-length or variable length of bytes based on requirements.

Binary data is the only category of data that can be directly understood and executed by a computer. It is numerically represented by a combination of zeros and ones.
