In this video tutorial, Anthony Morganti from mrphotographer.com teaches how to set raw defaults in docHub Camera Raw. By opening a Nikon raw file in Photoshop, which automatically opens in docHub Camera Raw, default settings such as profile and sharpening are applied to the image. If these default settings are not preferred, adjustments can be made, such as setting sharpening to zero for all imported raw files.

How do I change to RAW format?

Do you have to edit RAW photos?

All raw files require subsequent editing so, unless you want to edit your digital images, there is little point in shooting raw files.

Do you edit JPEG or RAW?

The JPEG processing applied by the camera is designed to produce a good-looking image right out of the camera, and this processing cannot be undone. A raw file, on the other hand, is processed by you; so you can decide how the image will look.

Why cant I see my RAW images?

Because RAW images come in a special format of their own, you will need to download what is called a codec (software that tells the computer how to read the data it is given). The codec is only good for allowing you to see the images in preview thumbnails and open them in an image viewer.

What do I do with RAW photos?

To open a RAW file, you need image editing software such as docHub Photoshop or docHub Lightroom. The most appropriate software to open a RAW file depends on your camera type and computer operating system or smartphone. After opening a RAW file, you can then convert and export it in your desired image format.

Is RAW easy to edit?

RAW editors allow you to adjust almost anything you can imagine: exposure, sharpness, color, noise, and more. So unlike with a compressed format (JPEG, for example), if you happen to take an underexposed photo in RAW, you may very well be able to save it by pulling out more detail from the shadows.

Is it better to edit RAW or JPEG?

The main advantage of shooting in RAW is that you end up with high-quality files to edit into the best possible image. Capturing and storing all the details that pass through your cameras sensors means RAW files contain a wider dynamic range and far greater color spectrum than JPEGs.
