open SSL allows you to create your own certificate Authority server and you can use that to create certificates for your own internal computers the only problem is the process isnt automated and at some point youll have to renew certificates before they expire because if you dont it causes problems for web browsers but how do you renew certificates using Urban SSL well if thats something that youre interested in finding out then stick around and watch this video because thats what well be going over now I used open SSL to create a certificate for a test server and if Im copy and paste this command into the command line and then hit return its telling me that the certificate was created on October 10th 2021 and that its set to expire October 10 2022 in other words at the time of this recording the actual certificate has already expired now the problem is I cant just simply extend the expiry date I have to replace the existing certificate I have to create a completely new one
