okay Im going to show you how to put a banner above the login prompt on Cisco devices first thing youre going to want to do is connect to the device Im going to use the Cisco 2621 XM router that I have so go ahead and tell it to that login go into global config mode and the command is banner motd message of the day space and then you need to put in a delimiting character Im going to use this squiggly line thing Im not exactly sure what that is I think its called a tilde or something hit enter and then youre going to go ahead and type in your banner so Ill put in some hash marks and authorize access is Pro visited kind of boring but its just an example and then youre going to put that delimiting character in to tell the router that you youre done typing your banner Im going to actually put a couple character turns in here so that theres some space between the banner and the login prompt so that the lines dont just run together put the delimited character in hit enter and
