Im really, really thrilled, because I know this is something a lot of people struggle with. Its very confusing. Its not a fun or natural act. Im just super excited to do this with you today. Resume icons can be a great addition if youre applying for a creative position. Some resumes, especially for jobs that require a traditional approach, wont benefit from icons. When used right, icons can make your resume more appealing and showcase your skills. Use icons in moderation, only to strengthen the content.
Be specific about what you did and how you did it. Start your bullet points or statements with strong action verbs. Provide contextual details to inform the reader about the purpose of your work, the scope of the project, and what you produced or accomplished. Quantify your work and achievements where possible.
If you have delivered strong, tangible results for your current and previous employers that can help you land the job, you may be comfortable in writing a paragraph for your Summary, but consider using bullets. Remember: Writing is one thing, getting someone to read your writing is another.

When it comes to including pictures on resumes, youll find that HR professionals and professional resume writers agree that a resume should not include a photograph. There are exceptions, of course, which are explained further below. However, generally speaking, you should not put a picture on your resume.
Affiliation: If youve worked directly for the company and have their explicit permission, its typically acceptable to include their logo on your CV. This can visually highlight your experience and the brands youve been associated with.
If youd like to use icons throughout the resume, then placing them next to the section headings is a good idea. These symbols can add a more modern feel and help draw the hiring managers attention down the page. They also give you a chance to add a touch of color further down on your resume.
