If the package doesnt require a signature, but youre concerned UPS may not leave it for you, you can click the Provide Delivery Instructions button at the right side of the details view. Click the Leave At box and select a location where youd like UPS to leave the package.
The UPS My Choice Authorized Shipment Release feature enables you to give authorization online for UPS to deliver packages without a signature for drop-off when youre not going to be home to sign in person.
A Waiver of Signature is initiated by the Sender and authorizes delivery of mail at the letter carriers discretion (if area is secured and protected from weather) without obtaining the recipients signature. Note: Waiver of Signature must be checked at time of mailing by the Sender. It cannot be amended in transit.
Certified Mail service provides date and time of delivery or attempted delivery when you access .usps.com (under Quick Tools, click on Tracking) or call toll-free 800-222-1811.

Does USPS require a signature? Not unless you purchase Signature Confirmation or similar services. You can ensure your package makes it to its end destination for a few bucks. If youre shipping precious or pricey items, any of these USPS signature-required services could be for you.
Certified Mail requires a signature from the recipient to complete the delivery. This could be the person who ordered the mail, or any recipient authorized by the sender or receiver beforehand. For the majority of e-commerce stores, using USPS Certified Mail is unjustifiably costly.
In the U.S. and Canada, for residential deliveries that require a signature, you can leave instructions for the driver if no one will be home. For example, you can ask that the shipment be delivered to a neighbor who will be home.
