In this video, Beta Delesi discusses the N9 notice, which is the tenant’s notice to end a tenancy. There are three ways to terminate a tenancy: tenant notice, mutual agreement, and court order. The N9 notice requires a 60-day termination date from the last date of the rental period. For instance, if a tenancy starts on the first of the month, the termination date should be set 60 days to the end of the subsequent two months. If a landlord serves an N12 notice, a tenant can expedite termination by serving an N9 with a 10-day notice. The video also highlights the difference between the N9 and N11 notices; the N11 represents a mutual agreement to end the tenancy, allowing for a flexible termination date.
