A rental agreement, or lease, is a contract between a landlord and a tenant. The landlord grants the tenant the right to occupy a rental unit. In return, the tenant commits to paying rent. The contract may also include other terms and rules.
The main difference between a lease and rent agreement is the period of time they cover. A rental agreement tends to cover a short termusually 30 dayswhile a lease contract is applied to long periodsusually 12 months, although 6 and 18-month contracts are also common.

In order to become a month-to-month tenant you dont have to do anything. Your contract AUTOMATICALLY becomes a month-to-month contract when your lease expires.
The lessor may complete and sign the lease form, and then email it to the lessee. Upon receiving and examining the lease, the lessee need only forward the email containing the lease back to the lessor with the following response: I agree to the terms and conditions of the attached lease.
