How much does USPS Certified Mail cost? USPS Certified Mail costs $3.75, in addition to the postage needed to mail your item. If you want to add a return receipt, that is an additional $3.05 for a mail receipt or $1.85 for an electronic receipt.
Registered mail is a mail service offered by postal services in many countries which allows the sender proof of mailing via a mailing receipt and, upon request, electronic verification that an article was delivered or that a delivery attempt was made.

How it works? Buy a Registered Post label online or at any post office. Declare the value of your item. Attach the Registered Post label. Complete the appropriate customs documentation for international items. Hand the item over the counter. Get a transaction receipt as proof of postage with a Track Trace ID number.
Unlike Certified Mail which is sent with regular mail, Registered mail is sent separately and usually takes longer to arrive. Due to the extra tracking, Registered Mail was more expensive and is typically used to send valuables and important documents since its a more secure type of mail.
