If your recommender wants to send a hard copy, make sure to print out any ranking form that needs to accompany the evaluation letter. Then give your recommender a pre-stamped, pre-addressed envelope. Typically, these envelopes should be sent to the schools undergraduate admissions office.
Students generally dont submit their own letters of recommendation. Teachers, counselors and other recommenders usually send them in electronically via whichever application platform a student is using, such as the Common App.
Once you are logged in click on Teacher Recommendations (under the Quick Links on the left hand side of the page). You should then see a screen with the name of the student, the date they requested the recommendation, the name of the college, and then a link to click on to upload file.
Aug 12, 2022Knowledge Naviance integrates with Common App so that when forms are submitted, colleges will receive them in the exact same way they do regular Common App recommendation forms.
Page 1 Requesting Recommendation Letters In Naviance. Request your recommendation letters from your teachers in person first! Then, from your Naviance homepage, click on the ​Colleges​ link in the upper right hand corner, choose the drop down item ​Apply to College​ and choose ​Letters of Recommendation​.
Teachers need 3-5 weeks (or more, depending on the teacher) for letters of recommendation, and you should allow extra time for everything. You should request transcripts as soon as you add schools to the Colleges I am Applying To list in Naviance.
Letters of Recommendation will not be accepted via email. Preferred method of submitting letters of recommendation (LOR) is to upload the on your Applicant Information System (AIS) page.
It is also important to note that when students add new colleges, beyond the initial request, you will be required to log in again to send this letter, as it will not be automatically sent. The following is a step-by-step guide to introduce you to the system of submitting recommendations.
