What Is The Difference Between a Commercial Invoice and an Invoice? An invoice is a bill issued by a business after the delivery of a product or service, to detail the sale and to request payment. A commercial invoice, on the other hand, is a type of invoice used for international deliveries.
This is the customs declaration form for Global Express Guaranteed (GXG). Both consumer and commercial shippers need to use this form when customs declaration is needed for GXG.
A Commercial Invoice may be required for personal shipments as well as for commercial shipments. If a commodity is not listed or if there is any doubt,complete a Commercial Invoice for the shipment. The Commercial Invoice must be completed in English. Three copies must accompany the shipment.
However, a customs declaration will still be required for First-Class Mail International items and Priority Mail Flat-Rate Envelopes with non-dutiable contents if those items weigh 16 ounces or more.
Each individual arriving into the United States must complete the CBP Declaration Form 6059B. Explanations and a sample declaration form can be found on the Sample Customs Declaration Form.
COMMERCIAL INVOICE EXPLAINED The commercial invoice contains information about the shipment such as a description of the items, the value and information about the shipper. If you are sending a gift or personal belongings, a pro forma invoice, rather than a commercial invoice will be needed.
