hi this is mike again in this brief tutorial i will look at how to set up read receipts and delivery receipts in your outlook email now what you would use those for is if you have an email thats urgent or you want to be able to follow up because i know we get a lot of emails in and out what this will allow you to do is to get a notice when somebodys read your email and that makes it easier to follow up so things dont get backed up and it also allows you to figure out whether you need to send a follow-up email or not okay so um go to your outlook email and then click compose a more new message and when you get the new message screen here what youre going to do is once youve filled in everything that you want to fill in in your message then come down here to these three dots at the very bottom of the screen it should be similar for those that use outlook on the web as opposed to those that use the desktop version of outlook um you should be able to find the read receipts um somewhe

Click on Mail in the Outlook Options dialog window. Scroll down to the Tracking area. Check the Delivery receipt confirming the message was delivered to the recipients e-mail server and Read receipt confirming the recipient viewed the message boxes. Click OK.
The sending of an e-mail and the corresponding transmission protocol do not establish prima facie evidence of receipt (OGH 2 Ob 108/07g) either. The receipt of an e-mail is (technically) uncertain. The sender bears the risk, not the recipient.
Read receipts can be automatically returned or not, or you can choose what to do for each read receipt request. Click the File tab. Click Options. Click Mail.
A delivery receipt means that your message has been delivered, but it doesnt mean the recipient has seen the message or opened it. With Outlook, you can set the delivery receipt option for a single message or request receipts for every message you send automatically.
To protect users email addresses, Gmail only delivers read receipts for messages to the users address, not for messages to group mailing lists or aliases.
Can you request a read receipt in Outlook without the recipient knowing? Some email services allow you to hide a read receipt from the recipient, but thats not the case with Outlook. If you are using the read receipt Outlook feature, the recipient will always know that you have requested a read receipt.
A delivery receipt tells you that your e-mail message was delivered to the recipients mailbox, but not whether the recipient has seen it or read it. A read receipt tells you that your message has been opened. In both cases, you receive a message notification when your message is delivered or read.
In business terms, a delivery receipt is issued by the seller to the customer for getting confirmation from the customer. The seller or the delivery personnel asks the customer to sign the delivery receipt to confirm the delivery of the goods or service.
