To obtain a read receipt confirmation for your email, the recipient must be willing to send it. In Outlook, go to File, select Options, then Mail, and scroll to the Tracking section. Check the box for "Read receipt confirming the recipient viewed the message." However, you'll only receive a confirmation if the recipient's email application is set up for it. For Outlook users, they must have one of two options checked: the first option "Always send a read receipt," which guarantees a confirmation, or the third option, which prompts the recipient each time.
