You should post or hand deliver your notice unless either: your contract says you can use email or text. your landlord agrees to accept notice by email.
You should say something like: I am giving 1 months notice to end my tenancy, as required by law. I will be leaving the property on (date xx). I would like you to be at the property on the day I move out to check the premises and for me to return the keys.
Landlords must have consent in writing by the tenant in order to be able to serve documents by email but be aware that the consent to service by email may be revoked at any time by giving notice in writing to the person or party.

You cannot give the tenant this notice by posting it on the door of the tenants rental unit. It is important that you keep a copy of the notice you give your tenant.
What is a valid notice of termination? Be in writing (an email is not sufficient) Be signed by the landlord (or an authorised agent) Specify the date of termination of the tenancy. To give notice, you must use the Tenants Notice to Terminate the Tenancy (Form N9). This form is available in the Forms section at tribunalsontario.ca/ltb or from any LTB office.
For a monthly lease, you must provide the landlord one months written notice in advance. If the lease does not specify the lease as monthly, then in ance with the Commercial Tenancies Act, section 28, a months notice given no later than the end of the month is sufficient notice.
Proper notice is required in written form, to the end of the term or lease, giving a notice period of at least 60 days. Text communication would not be deemed legal notice.
