The supervisor gives a written decision within 10 calendar days after receipt of appeal. If this timeframe is impossible because of extenuating circumstances, the decision must explain the reason(s) for the delay.
A decision regarding your claim is usually communicated within 5-10 days. If your claim was filed online, you may check the status by signing in to your usps.com account.
Steps for writing an appeal letter Review the appeal process if possible. Determine the mailing address of the recipient. Explain what occurred. Describe why its unfair/unjust. Outline your desired outcome. If you havent heard back in one week, follow-up.
Final Appeal If your appeal is denied, you can file a second appeal within 30 days of the date you received the appeal denial.
Customers may file claims for damaged and/or missing contents immediately, but no later than 60 days from the date of mailing.
Generally speaking, USPS makes claim decisions within 5 to 10 days. The sender or receiver can file the claim, but it must be submitted within 60 days of the shipping date.
If your appeal is denied, you can file a second appeal within 30 days of the date you received the appeal denial.
