Today, were talking about the condo pet policy, something that is uber-important especially since it seems like everyone is getting dogs these days. Im in Rosslyn, Virginia, I have The Waterview behind me to the left. Theres some shadows coming in, cant really see it. I know I look good but you cant really see that The Waterview is there. Behind me, off camera theres a small, maybe Ill get a shot of this afterwards. The Rosslyn BID is really good about putting in parks and other little cool things into the neighborhood. Today I wanted to talk to you about condo pet policies because quite frankly, a lot of them are antiquated, theyre out-of-date, but you have to follow them. You cant just move in to a condo with two dogs when the pet policy says no dogs. A lot of times its one dog per unit, maybe one cat per unit. You can keep pets as long as its not specifically forbidden in your tenancy agreement and it doesnt cause a nuisance to neighbours. You should read the contract you signed most recently. Even if a tenancy agreement says that pets arent allowed, it can be difficult for a landlord to enforce this condition.
The Tenant hereby undertakes and agrees to remedy and pay for any damage caused to The Property and/or contents of The Property which shall have been caused by The Pet residing in The Property. For the avoidance of doubt any such damage shall not be deemed to be fair wear and tear.
No pets shall be allowed at ANY time. If a pet is found in the Premises, Tenants will be charged a pet fee of $200.00 per tenant, payable immediately. For each following day the pet remains on the Premises, Tenants will charged an additional pet fee of $10.00 per tenant, per day.
