hey there its Brooks here from document snap comm and today were going to be talking about how you can find all the PDFs on your computer if youre running Windows so Im here at my Windows desktop and you know theres sometimes if youre looking for a document and youve tried a bunch of different ways sometimes it can be helpful just to get a list of all the PDFs on your computer and in one big list and then you can view and sort them however you want theres a bunch of different ways to do this of course but Im going to show you a way that I like to do it so so the first thing I want to do is bring up Windows search and theres different ways you can do it you can click the start button etc etc but I like to go hit the Windows F key and that will bring up this big search box I like doing it this way because the search box is nice and large and you can search a bunch of different ways but what Im going to do is Im going to type it into this search box right here and theres a b

OCRd or made-searchable PDFs: Image-based PDFs can be made text searchable via the application of optical character recognition (OCR). During the OCR process, characters and the document structure are read. As a result, a text layer is added to the image layer.
Open your PDF with your default PDF reader. Press the control (CTRL) button and the F key simultaneously. A text box will pop up type in the keyword or phrase you want to locate in the box. The first matching word or phrase will be highlighted in the PDF.
When a PDF is opened in the Acrobat Reader (not in a browser), the search window pane may or may not be displayed. To display the search/find window pane, use Ctrl+F.

Its possible that you dont have an iFilter in place for PDF documents. To explain, the Windows indexing service doesnt understand the PDF file format, so you need an iFilter, which is a helper for PDF files.
Find and replace text in a PDF Choose Edit Find (Ctrl/Command+F). Type the text you want to search for in the text box on the Find toolbar. To replace text, click Replace With to expand the toolbar, then type the replacement text in the Replace With text box.
Start the docHub Acrobat application and using File Open menu open a scanned PDF document. Select the Tools from the main toolbar. Double click on the Enhance Scans tool. Expand the Recognize Text pull down menu.
The following instructions apply to making a PDF text-searchable in docHub Professional or Standard: Click on Tools Text Recognition In This File. The Recognize Text popup box opens. Select All pages, then click OK.
How to Make a PDF Searchable in docHub Open docHub on your computer. Click Open. Find and select the document you want to make searchable, then click Open. Head to Tools and select Recognize Text. Press PDF Output Style Searchable Image. Then select OK.
