How to share an Excel file Enable the shared workbooks feature. If you have Excel, you may have the shared workbooks feature hidden. Click the Shared Workbook button. Allow changes. Change settings under Advanced (optional) Use the Protect and Share Workbook feature (optional) Save in a shared network location.

Enter the names or email addresses of who to share with. Add a message (optional). Select Send. Or, select Copy link to get a link to the file.
Use the Accessibility Checker. Make it easy for everyone to read your spreadsheet. Use a simple table structure for data only, and specify column header information. To ensure that tables dont contain split cells, merged cells, or nested tables, use the Accessibility Checker.
Click Review Share Workbook. On the Editing tab, select the Allow changes by more than one user check box. On the Advanced tab, select the options that you want to use for tracking and updating changes, and then click OK. If this is a new workbook, type a name in the Save As box.
