In this video tutorial, the speaker reflects on their journey into screen printing, which began exactly one year ago. After spending two to three months transforming their basement into a functional workshop with new equipment, they were ready to print their first shirt. The speaker’s motivation stemmed from challenges faced with local printers, who provided poor-quality work or failed to communicate effectively. Frustrated with the lack of reliable options for their brand, 38th Ride, they decided to take control of the printing process themselves. This experience resonates with many other screen printers who start out in a similar fashion.

JPEG raster files are used for photographs, large digital images and graphics. JPEG files are very small and compatible with many programs and software. JPEGs are commonly used for printing photos and artwork due to their high resolution.
PNG files are high-resolution images with better color depth, so they deliver good quality printouts using home or office printers. Contrary, JPEG photos may get blurry or show loss of color in printing output.
JPEG images can be printed using the mass storage mode. The Object Push Profile (OPP) or Basic Imaging Profile (BIP) is used for printing via a Bluetooth connection. This printer will convert a color JPEG image to a Black White image using a dithering process.

If youre printing something smaller-scale -- think a small photo album or scrapbooking material -- JPEG will do just fine. If youre printing something large, however, where quality is important -- like an art piece or giclee art-- you should go with the TIFF format.
The best file format to send your artwork in is an AI. (docHub Indesign) file or high-resolution PSD file. This means your resolution should be at 300 DPI. If you cant send your artwork as an AI or high-res PDF, the next best way is a vector PDF or a high-resolution PNG or JPEG.
CMYK File Types: PDF files are ideal when a CMYK color profile is needed because they are compatible with most programs. This is by far the best universal file type for sharing designs. AI files are the native documents created in docHub Illustrator and maintain their editability.
Which has better quality JPEG or PDF? PDFs will often be higher quality than JPEGs. This is because JPEGs compress images, leading to a loss in quality that you cant regain. Visuals saved as PDF are of very high quality and even customizable, making them the file format of choice for printers.
