LSAT scores are released usually about three weeks after your test date. If the LSAT was disclosed, youll also receive a copy of the test questions along with your score report.
How many times may I take the LSAT? Three times in a single testing year (the next testing cycle begins with the August 2022 test). Five times within the current and five past testing years (the period in which LSAC reports scores to law schools). A total of seven times over a lifetime.
The average LSAT score is about 150. To get into a top 14 law school, you need to score above 162, and to get into a top 50 law school, you need 154 or above.
Once you get your score back, you can start sending it out to schools. To do this, all you need to do is choose which law schools to send your score to through the Law School Admissions Councils website. There is no limit, really.
LSAT scores are the property of LSAC and are kept indefinitely to be reported to schools based upon the reporting policy adopted for each year. Paper Credential Assembly Service (CAS) records are retained for one year and then destroyed.
LSAC now offers a Score Preview option for all test takers who wish to see their LSAT score before deciding whether to keep it and have it reported to law schools. You can purchase LSAT Score Preview through your LSAC online account.
Your LSAT score will be posted to the LSAT Status page of your LSAC account. You will receive an email when your score is available. All test takers must have a completed LSAT Writing sample on file in order to see their score or have their score released to law schools.
Accessing Your Official Candidate LSAT Score Report Once your order is processed, youll be able to download a PDF copy of your report from the LSAT Score Reports page of your LSAC online account. If requested, LSAC will also mail up to two pre-printed copies of your report at no additional charge.
