You can use the following formulas to create an IF function with 3 conditions in Excel: Method 1: Nested IF Function =IF(C2
Place a $ before the column letter if you want that to always stay the same. Place a $ before a row number if you want that to always stay the same. For example, $C$3 refers to cell C3, and $C$3 will work exactly the same as C3, expect when you copy the formula.
Use the IF function, one of the logical functions, to return one value if a condition is true and another value if its false. For example: =IF(A2B2,Over Budget,OK) =IF(A2=B2,B4-A4,)
While Excel will allow you to nest up to 64 different IF functions, its not at all advisable to do so.
Another way to get an Excel IF to test multiple conditions is by using an array formula. To complete an array formula correctly, press the Ctrl + Shift + Enter keys together. In Excel 365 and Excel 2021, this also works as a regular formula due to support for dynamic arrays.
Simply do the following: Select the cell with the formula and the adjacent cells you want to fill. Click Home Fill, and choose either Down, Right, Up, or Left. Keyboard shortcut: You can also press Ctrl+D to fill the formula down in a column, or Ctrl+R to fill the formula to the right in a row.
When you combine each one of them with an IF statement, they read like this: AND =IF(AND(Something is True, Something else is True), Value if True, Value if False) OR =IF(OR(Something is True, Something else is True), Value if True, Value if False) NOT =IF(NOT(Something is True), Value if True, Value if False)
