hello again as you know I am Eli the computer guy and todays class is prevent specific file types from being saved in shared folders in Windows Server 2012 so the last class we did we talked about quotas we talked about preventing users from using too much space on a shared hard drive so weve said okay we are going to create a quota and users can only put so much data into that folder one of the reasons you create things like quotas is to prevent dumb users from doing things such as uploading their entire iTunes collection up onto your server and crashing it because they will do that type of thing the problem is is that creating quotas is a bit like using a sledgehammer to try to fix the problem its its its not a very precise way of preventing files from being shared to a shared drive on a server because what happens if your c-level executive your marketing director wants to save a five gig word file well if you put quotas there and that word file is above the size of the quotas
