Re: Removing data type from cell Go ahead and do that first step already mentioned: Select the cell, right-click and choose Data Type=Convert to Text. 2.) Go to an unused cell in the spreadsheet, select it, right-click and choose Format Cells. Then, on the Number tab, choose Text.

Change data types in Design view If you have the table open in Datasheet view, right-click the document tab for the table and click Design View. -or- Locate the field that you want to change, and select a new data type from the list in the Data Type column. Save your changes.
How to change the Data Types Refresh Pane Settings Right-click a data type Data Type Refresh Settings. In Data Types Refresh Settings, select one of the data types in the workbook to expand it. Select one of the options to apply it to that data type.
Heres how: Click Open in Excel. Select the cells containing the data you want to format. Click the Format Cells box launcher. Tip: You can also press Ctrl+5. In the Format Cells box, under Effects, click Strikethrough. Save the workbook and reopen it in Excel for the web to see the changes.
