hi and welcome back to sacs tuition my nameamp;#39;s Jeremy and this is part one of a brand new free series called tone tips where we look at techniques to get the best possible tone on the saxophone so letamp;#39;s begin so what I want you to consider in this video is how much mouthpiece you have in your mouth when youamp;#39;re playing so weamp;#39;re going to start off with a simple exercise weamp;#39;re going to play right at the end of the mouthpiece and then slowly move all the way on and see what that sounds like so when we play right at the end of the mouthpiece the sound is very soft itamp;#39;s very thin and brittle but then as we start to move further on the sound starts to open up of course if we go too far on and we have a lot of mouthpiece in our mouth then the sound gets really really loud and squawky and hard to control and thatamp;#39;s not what we want either so thereamp;#39;s a sweet spot somewhere in the middle of the mouthpiece where we get the best
