Enable or disable text wrapping for a text box, rich text box, or expression box. Right-click the control for which you want to enable or disable text wrapping, and then click Control Properties on the shortcut menu. Click the Display tab. Select or clear the Wrap text check box.
Wrap text automatically In a worksheet, select the cells that you want to format. On the Home tab, in the Alignment group, select Wrap Text. (On Excel for desktop, you can also select the cell, and then press Alt + H + W.)
Select the text box or shape. If you want to change multiple text boxes or shapes, click the first text box or shape, and then press and hold Ctrl while you click the other text boxes or shapes. On the Format tab, click Shape Outline, and then click No Outline.
Follow these steps to resize your content: Select the cell with text thats too long to fully display, and press [Ctrl]1. Alternatively, you can click the Number groups dialog launcher. In the Format Cells dialog box, click the Alignment tab. Check the Shrink to fit option on the Alignment tab (Figure D). Click OK.
Heres how: Click Open in Excel. Select the cells containing the data you want to format. Click the Format Cells box launcher. Tip: You can also press Ctrl+5. In the Format Cells box, under Effects, click Strikethrough. Save the workbook and reopen it in Excel for the web to see the changes.
Possible reasons include limited space, merged cells, conflicting formatting, or long text. To fix, adjust column width, avoid merged cells, clear conflicting formatting, or truncate long text. These steps will help you get the Shrink to Fit feature working as expected in your Excel cells.
Wrap text in a cell or group of cells Select the cells that you want to format. On the Home tab, click Wrap Text. Text inside the cell wraps to fit the column width. When you change the column width, text wrapping adjusts automatically.
Click the border of the text box that you want to delete, and then press Delete. Note: Make sure the pointer is on the border of the text box and not inside it. If the pointer is inside the box, pressing Delete will delete the text inside the text box, not the box.
