It Disinfects (Most) Things. You can mix a 50/50 solution of water and rubbing alcohol to disinfect your hard-surface countertops, like granite and quartz. Hospitals also sometimes use alcohol towelettes to get rid of germs on small surfaces like stethoscopes, scissors, and thermometers.
Dampen the stain with rubbing alcohol and let it sit for 20 minutes. Rub a few drops of liquid dish soap into the stain. Wipe the soapy residue off with a damp cloth.
If its a small stain, place a paper towel under the stain and use an eyedropper to apply rubbing alcohol onto the stain. For a larger spot, pour the alcohol into a small dish, immerse the stained area and soak for 15 minutes. Blot the stain with a clean paper towel.
Rubbing alcohol gets out ink stains from clothes and walls. Hydrogen Peroxide gets out fresh blood stains quickly and economically. For ball point pen ink on your clothes, try a sponge soaked with milk. Rub on the spot.
Place a paper towel on the stain. From the back side of the fabric, apply rubbing alcohol or hair spray to the stain by dripping it onto the paper towel carefully. Next, use the paper towel to soak up the stain and the liquid. Repeat until the stain is gone.
Apply RubOut to damp cloth or sponge and gently massage surface with a circular overlapping motion. Rinse with water until clean and dry, using a cloth or a squeegee.
Now, lets tackle that grease stain. Cleaning expert Leslie Reichert says the real solution to removing oily stains is rubbing alcohol. Apply it to the stain using a light, dabbing motion until the area is wet. Allow the alcohol a few minutes to break down the oil, then rub the area with a simple bar soap, like Ivory.
