It was introduced to MacOS El Capitan back in 2015, and aimed to solve the problem of lost cursors. You see, back in the older days of Mac, users only had one display that max out around seventeen to twenty inches. And notebooks were even smaller, so losing track of your cursor was rarely an issue. But as years passed, technology advanced. And the Mac began to feature larger, more pixel-dense displays. In 2004, Apple had released their largest yet, the 30-inch cinema display which had over four million pixels. And considering the Mac Pro could drive two of these at the same time, that meant users could be staring at 8-million pixels. This is where things got a little complicated. Considering the Macs cursor was made up of about 1,000 pixels, losing track of it among the other 8 million was fairly common. And subsequent products only made matters worse. T

If you dont want to permanently change your original document, you can save a copy of it with a smaller file size instead. Choose File Reduce File Size (from the File menu at the top of the screen). Select the adjustments you want to make: Click one of the following buttons to apply the adjustments:
To resize desktop icons Right-click (or press and hold) the desktop, point to View, and then select Large icons, Medium icons, or Small icons. Tip: You can also use the scroll wheel on your mouse to resize desktop icons. On the desktop, press and hold Ctrl while you scroll the wheel to make icons larger or smaller.
Use your own picture or a picture from the web Select the file or folder whose icon you want to replace. Choose File Get Info in the menu bar. At the top of the Info window, click the small icon. Choose Edit Paste in the menu bar.
