Friends many time we come across a situation where we need to select randomly n number of rows from a given rows in excel So this video I would be demonstrating this technique over to my screen In this data, I have 5044 minus 1 i.e 5043 rows and letamp;#39;s assume I want to randomly pick up 150 rows from it letamp;#39;s do a quick mathematics for this =5043 divided by 150 33 that means if I divide these rows into a bundle of 33 and randomly pick up 1 row from it, so I would be left with 150 rows now it would not exact to 150 maybe 152 or 148, but thatamp;#39;s not the issue, we can add or remove extra / short rows we will be using a function called RANDBETWEEN this function basically generated a random number between a range, so you have specify a range so letamp;#39;s say you want to generate a random number between 1 and 33 I will close the bracket 27 and this would keep on generating if I press F2 in any cell and press enter this number would keep on changing because, each time

The quickest solution to cross out text is to use the Excel strikethrough shortcut. Select the cell or text. Press Ctrl + 5 (Command + Shift + X on Mac).
You can do this with a full list or selected items. For example, if you have information in A1 to A20, and you want to select an item at random from A7 to A16, the formula is =CHOOSE(RANDBETWEEN(1,10), $B$7, $B$8, $B$9, $B$10, $B$11, $B$12, $B$13, $B$14, $B$15, $B$16).
If you want to use RAND to generate a random number but dont want the numbers to change every time the cell is calculated, you can enter =RAND() in the formula bar, and then press F9 to change the formula to a random number.
This can be done in one of two ways: the lottery or random number method. In the lottery method, you choose the sample at random by drawing from a hat or by using a computer program that will simulate the same action. In the random number method, you assign every individual a number.
0:16 2:52 And so on and it comes up and Excel is predicted what I want or what it thinks I want all I do nowMoreAnd so on and it comes up and Excel is predicted what I want or what it thinks I want all I do now is press Enter. Done.
The rand() function is the key tool needed to take a random sample. If you enter the function =rand() in a cell, Excel is equally likely to return any number between 0 and 1. For example, there is a 10% chance you will see a number between 0 and 0.1 and a 20% chance you will see a number between 0.8 and 1.
Heres how: Click Open in Excel. Select the cells containing the data you want to format. Click the Format Cells box launcher. Tip: You can also press Ctrl+5. In the Format Cells box, under Effects, click Strikethrough. Save the workbook and reopen it in Excel for the web to see the changes.
