Regular wear is key to breaking them in, as is using aids like Doc Martens Wonder Balsam, heat application, or wearing thick socks to stretch the leather gently and mold the boots to your feet. Every pair of feet is unique, so the break-in period will vary.

HOW TO BREAK IN YOUR DOCS Choose the right fit. If you normally take a half size, we recommend sizing down. Grab a tin of wonder balsam. Our Dr. Wear thick socks and keep your laces tight. If theyre brand new boots, start with 1-2 hour intervals. Work the leather. Repeat until theyre perfect.
Turn your hair dryer on low heat and hold it 5-6 inches (12.5-15 cm) from the boot or shoe. Move the blow dryer back and forth along the surface of the shoe for 3-5 minutes to soften the leather up. You can repeat this process as needed until your Docs feel comfortable on your feet.
