Remove a watermark from a sheet On the Layout tab, under Page Setup, click Header Footer. Click Customize Header, and then click the section of the sheet header in which the watermark appears. Select the watermark, and then press DELETE . Click OK, and then click OK to close the Page Setup dialog box.
It looks like a watermark, but dont worry -- that text wont appear on your printed worksheet. That Page 1 is a sign that you are in Page Break Preview, instead of Excels Normal view or Page Layout view.
Remove page numbers Go to Insert Page Number, and then choose Remove Page Numbers. If the Remove Page Numbers button isnt available or if some page numbers are still there, double-click in the header or footer, select the page number, and press Delete.
Click on the Page Break Preview button under Workbook Views group. Click on the watermark to select it. Press the Delete key on your keyboard. Click on the Normal button in the Workbook Views group to exit the Page Break Preview mode.
On the page AFTER the TOC or whatever is the last page in the first section, put your cursor in the header/footer, UN-check the box for link to previous, and go to Insert Page numbers. When the page number is entered it will show up as 3. Right-click on that number and select Page number options.
Remove a sheet background Click the worksheet that is displayed with a sheet background. Make sure that only one worksheet is selected. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Delete Background. Delete Background is available only when a worksheet has a sheet background.
View page breaks Select the row that is underneath the row where you want the page to break. Select the column that is to the right of the column where you want the page to break. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Breaks, and then click Insert Page Break.
First, click on View and click Normal under the Workbooks View group. Then you will see that the watermark on the page number has been removed. This is how you can remove or hide the page number watermark in Excel.
