Hey everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can use VLOOKUP in Microsoft Excel. VLOOKUP is one of the most popular functions in Excel. If thereamp;#39;s a good function to know how to use, this is a really good one To add to your toolbox. In fact, when I worked at Microsoft, this is a function that I used All the time. So what is VLOOKUP and what does it even stand for? VLOOKUP stands for vertical look up and it allows you to look up information in a vertical list. So, letamp;#39;s take an example. Letamp;#39;s imagine that you have a customer ID and you want to know the customers name. So, you have a list with all the IDs And the customer names, you can look up that ID and then get the customer name back. Or maybe you have two different tables of information, and you want to bring them together. You can use VLOOKUP to join those two separate tables. Itamp;#39;s really versatile. Today weamp;#39;re going to start off by going in depth on how you use

You can just open the CSV file in Excel and replace all the quotation marks with an empty line that will remove all of them.
How to remove BOM. If you want to remove the byte order mark from a source code, you need a text editor that offers the option of saving the mark. You read the file with the BOM into the software, then save it again without the BOM and thereby convert the coding. The mark should then no longer appear.
Option 2: Save the CSV file without the BOM (BYTE ORDER MARK): Open your CSV file with any text editor that supports both BOM and NON-BOM. Save it again without BOM (for example, in Notepad++ , select Encoding | Encode in UTF-8 and save the file).
The problem is that there is no comment character standard for a CSV file, but I did hear that you can define your own comment character in the C# file that reads the CSV file. For instance skip rows that start with #.
To escape the double quotation marks, enclose them within another double quotation mark. Here are a few examples to import double quotes. If you enter the following values in a CSV file: Laptop with 15 inch display.
The or character is known as the byte order marking (BOM) character and is commonly found as the first line of a CSV file. or cannot be seen when the CSV is opened with Notepad or Excel for that, an Editor is required that can display the BOM (Byte Order Mark).
On Windows, BOM can be removed using PowerShell. Open Windows PowerShell. Get-Content -Encoding Byte -TotalCount 3 Note that if your filename has spaces, you will need to put the name in quotes.
Adding the BOM character to your CSV $bom is a string representing the BOM character. To remove the BOM character just set $bom to an empty value like null or an empty string. To ease writing the sequence you should use the BOM* constants.
