If you use Gmails web client, you can right click on the email and choose View Page Source. However, this will show you the entire web pages HTML code, including the message information. Using Outlook connected to your Gmail account will enable you to only look at the emails HTML directly.
View original message HTML Open the message, click the Actions menu under the arrow on the top right, then View Message Source.
Change Default Email Format for Sending Messages Go to File Options. In the Outlook Options dialog box, select Mail. In the Compose messages section, select the Compose messages in this format dropdown arrow and select either HTML, Plain Text, or Rich Text.
Go to New Email to compose a new message. On the top ribbon - you will find a meatball menu icon (three horizontal dots). Click on it. A dropdown menu will appear - from where you can select the option of Switch To HTML (refer Figure 1).
You can change a plain text message to HTML. In the message, click Reply, Reply All, or Forward. If youre working in the Reading Pane, click Pop Out. Note: If you arent working in the Reading Pane, you dont need to do this. In the message window, click Format Text HTML.
To switch to plain text while creating or replying to any email, Click More options (three vertical dots icon near the lower-right corner). Select Plain Text Mode.
Your contacts control their mail server settings In these cases, when either the recipient has elected to turn HTML off for incoming emails or someone at their company / email host has, those contacts will only receive the plaintext version of your campaign.
Copy and paste web page text in a text document Access the web page containing the text you want to save as a text document. Highlight the text on the web page that you want to save in a text document. Copy the highlighted text. Open a text-based application, like Notepad.
