if you want to remove a single color background to create a transparent logo on mac you can use the preview application navigate to your chosen logo in finder right click and select open with and select preview click on the show markup toolbar option and this will open a new toolbar where you will need to select the instant alpha tool whose icon looks like a magic wand left click on an area you wish to remove the background color of and slightly drag the mouse this will select an area in red release the mouse and your selected area will be chosen you can then hit the backspace key to remove this area here preview may prompt you to convert your image to a png file which is important as png files support transparency on the areas you remove you will need to repeat the same process on all the areas you wish to remove and once you have removed all your chosen background save your image as a png file and you can then add your logo into your edit and the background will stay transparent
