Search inside zip files Open WinRAR. Navigate to the folder with the zip files. (or navigate to a parent folder. Click FIND. Leave the * in the file names box. Type the string you want it to find. Select for Disks and Folders type ZIP in the Archive types box.
Extract the zip file with Linux Right-click on the file and the context menu will appear with the list of options. Select the Extract Here option to unzip files into the present working directory or choose Extract to for a different directory.
Tap the ZIP file. This displays the contents of the ZIP file. If youre using a Samsung Galaxy, youll see checkboxes next to each file inside. If you dont want to unpack all of the files, you can tap the checkmarks next to the files you dont want. This prevents those files from extracting.
Within Terminal, navigate to the folder containing the zip file by using the command cd . Then use the command unzip -l replacing with the zip file name. The contents of the zip file are displayed. This should work on Linux too.
You can use the WinZip Internal Viewer to view and modify images residing in a Zip file (. zip or . zipx). You can also view text and various other document files with the Internal Viewer.
The -l option in the Linux zip command is used to display information about the contents of a ZIP file without extracting its contents.
