In order to bold selected words/fields in a formula you will need to surround them with html tags for bold, , and format the field as HTML. Place the formula in the report then right-click it and select Format Field. Then select the Paragraph tab and in the Text Interpretation section select HTML Text.
To write a conditional formatting formula, right-click the report and click Format Result Object element select the property on which you want to apply conditional formula click and it will open formula workshop. Write the formula in the formula text pane, save and close it.
How to add a text object in Crystal Reports Click once on the border of the text object to select it for resizing and moving. Double-click inside the text object to select it for editing. The Design Tab ruler changes to a text object ruler sized to the length of the selected object. To the left, a tab indicator appears.
Right-click the desired field you wish to change. Select Format Field or Format Text. On the Font tab, click X+2 across from the font property you wish to change (ex: Color or Style) In the Formula Workshop window, you can specify the conditions for when to change the font color or style.
Place the formula in the report then right-click it and select Format Field. Then select the Paragraph tab and in the Text Interpretation section select HTML Text. You can also use html tags to, italicize, change the font, the size and/or the color, etc. of the selected words/fields you choose.
Drag the bottom of the section up or right-click on the section and select Fit to Section. If there are no fields in the section, right-click and select Suppress (No Drill-Down) Right-click on the section and select Section Expert. Mark the Suppress Blank Section checkbox.
To suppress blank fields: Go to Insert Text Object to add a textbox into the report. Drag the Address fields into the textbox. Right-click on the text box and select Format Text. On the Common tab, mark the Suppress Embedded Field Blank Lines checkbox. Click OK.
