Select the Divide tool (Shift+X) from the Tools panel. Click and drag the Divide tool over the letters you want to cut. Adjust the division count in the Options bar to specify the desired number of segments.
Using the Selection Tool (V), simply double-click on the text to edit it. Using the Type Tool (T), click on the text, and then you can edit it. If you cant edit text in Illustrator, have a look at the Layers panel (Window Layers) and make sure that its not locked.
In docHub Illustrator, you can delete an object from a layer by selecting the object and then pressing the Delete key on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can right-click on the object and select the Delete option from the context menu.
Select the Eraser Tool (E) . Use the tool options bar to customize tool settings, like Size and Hardness, to get the effect you want. Drag over the parts of the image you want to erase.
Use Ctrl if youre using a Windows system, and Cmd if youre on a Mac OS. If you cant find an End key on your mac keyboard, hold down the down arrow for a few seconds instead, to select all the text to the end. Then simple hit Delete to banish the text forever, and make your Preflight panel very happy!
To erase parts of the text, you need to convert the text to an outline, for which the eraser tool will work. However, this is a one-way street: Once you have convert the text to an outline, it is no longer editable as text. If you need to edit the text, be sure to do it before converting it for erasure.
