For this example, if you dont want to strip out the whitespaces for all XML elements, you can instead use instead. In the following sections, you will learn about the concept of XML whitespace along with tips to avoid such problems.
You should use removeAttribute() instead of setting the attribute value to null either directly or using setAttribute() . Many attributes will not behave as expected if you set them to null .
xml is loaded into xmlDoc. Set the variable y to be the element node to remove. Remove the element node by using the removeChild() method from the parent node.
In the XML Files explorer, right-click the XML file or XML element that you want to remove and click Delete.
The removeAttribute() method removes an attribute, and does not have a return value. The removeAttributeNode() method removes an Attr object, and returns the removed object. The result will be the same.
RemoveAttribute(String, String) Removes an attribute with the specified local name and namespace URI. (If the removed attribute has a default value, it is immediately replaced).
Commenting out an entire XML block using CTRL+ / comments each line separately instead of creating a block comment. Select the entire block of xml and hit CTRL+/ to comment the entire block.
In XML, you can indicate an empty element like this: or you can use an empty tag, like this (this sort of element syntax is called self-closing): The two forms above produce identical results in an XML parser.
