Hey, everyone! In this video, Iamp;#39;m going to show you how to add special characters like Greek letters and mathematical symbols to a plot. First, weamp;#39;ll create a plot. Then Iamp;#39;ll show you how to use TeX markup to add superscripts and subscripts, modify the text, and add special characters. Finally, Iamp;#39;ll show you how to add an equation to the plot and use LaTeX markup for more advanced formatting options. Letamp;#39;s get started. The temperature at the center of a plane wall can be described by the following dimensionless equation. Theta naught is equal to A1 times e to the minus lambda one squared times tau. And weamp;#39;re going to plot theta naught as a function of tau over the interval 0.2 is less than or equal to tau is less than or equal to two. In this equation, the constants A1 and lambda one have values of 1.1191 and 0.8603, respectively. The result is going to be a plot that looks like this. \ (Backslash): The escape character in LaTeX. Used to begin commands ( \section ) and to print special characters (e.g., \% to print % ).
Your URL might be containing some underscore characters , which are special characters in LaTeX theyre the subscript operator when in math mode, e.g. $xi$ will produce . Usually, if you want to use a literal underscore character in normal text, youll have to write escape it as \ . in your document.
The proper LaTeX command for underscore is \textunderscore , but the LaTeX 2.09 command \ is an established alias.
Use the backslash to escape, i.e., \ .
By default, escape-latex only escapes characters that would result in malformed LaTeX. These characters include # $ % \ ^ { } . This means that the final LaTeX output might not look the same as your input Javascript string.
Text. Writing text in a LaTeX document is easy. Once you are inside the body of the document, as described in the Document Structure section of this page, all you have to do is start typing. When you compile the code LaTeX will take care of all the text formatting based on any commands and packages used.
If you simply want the character to be printed just as any other letter, include a \ in front of the character. For example, \$ will produce $ in your output. The exception to the rule is the \ itself because \\ has its own special meaning. A \ is produced by typing $\backslash$ in your file.
