Crooks said darkly, Guys dont come into a colored mans room very much. Nobody been here but Slim. Slim an the boss.
Later, Crooks comes in, announcing that Lennie is petting the pups too much in the barn.
Crooks asks Lennie what he would do if George disappeared and Lennie gets scared. Crooks tells him that he will be locked up in a home if George dies. Lennie gets angry and starts for Crooks. Confused by the conversation, he wants to know who hurt George.
In Chapter 4, Crooks confides in Lennie because he realizes that Lennie cannot comprehend difficult conversations. He tells him how lonely it is to be the only Black man on the segregated ranch.
Answer and Explanation: ing to George, Lennie became mentally disabled as a result of an accident. Lennie was kicked in the head by a horse when he was young, and the resulting brain damage permanently stunted his ability to process long-term consequences and control his emotions.
Crooks is discriminated against because he is the only black man on the ranch. Segregation was prominent in the 1930s, which meant he could not live, sleep, or eat with the white ranch workers. The men on the ranch often use racial slurs and derogatory language to show their superiority.
Answer and Explanation: The reason George shoots Lennie at the end of Of Mice and Men is because Lennie killed Curleys wife. If George did not shoot Lennie, the large man would either be shot in the stomach by Curley, a slow and painful death, or locked up in an institution.
Nobody never gets to heaven, and nobody gets no land. Crooks is pessimistic about the ability of poor working men to achieve their dreams, especially the American Dream of land of ones own. He feels that the dream of land is as unachievable in this life as a dream of docHubing heaven.
