Here are the steps to do so:Open the email containing the Word document. Click on the Enable Editing button at the top of the document. If you still cant edit the document, click on File and then Info. Select Protect Document and then Enable Editing.
For example, click the Microsoft Word document icon that appears when the attachment is in . docx format. Click the information icon next to an attachment to navigate to its information page. From the Actions menu, select Download file attachment.
Select the message, calendar item or task that contains your attachment. Next to the attachment, select the and choose Edit in Browser. If you have Office installed, you will also see the option to Edit in desktop app.
When someone shares a Word document with you, the email you receive includes a link that opens the document in your web browser: in Word for the web. Select Edit Document Edit in Browser.
