This tutorial from the Center for Communication Excellence guides users on how to rotate page numbers on landscape pages for thesis and dissertation formatting. The Graduate College requires these page numbers to be positioned on the right side and rotated 90 degrees. To achieve this, first double-click the page number and adjust the header and footer page margins to "large right." Next, to rotate the page number, click in the text box until formatting points appear, then right-click the border to access the format shape options. Change the vertical alignment to "middle" and set the text direction to "rotate all text 90 degrees." Ensure that the "do not rotate text" and "resize shape to fit" boxes are unchecked.
