all right today weamp;#39;ve got two questions whatamp;#39;s the fastest youamp;#39;ve churned out a book and I would say I mean a lot of this depends on the length of the book but to my recollection the fastest Iamp;#39;ve ever written a book was a 40 000 word book which I wrote in for weeks Iamp;#39;m pretty sure that is my record as far as speed goes and the second part of the question is have you ever had that perfect manuscript that needed next to no editing and thereamp;#39;s a story here about Meg Cabot or somebody saying they wrote a book in a week or a month sent it to their editor and it was so perfect it got published without edits I would love to see the details of this I personally have never written anything that did not need a couple of passes of editing like some big picture edits and then you know smaller like copy edits I donamp;#39;t know if thereamp;#39;s such thing as a perfect manuscript I donamp;#39;t know if thereamp;#39;s really an author out there wh

You can toggle between INSRT = insert and OVER = overwrite. Click in the field to toggle the modes. If the cursor is positioned in a text document, you may also use the Insert key (if available on your keyboard) to toggle the modes.
Apache OpenOffice inserts revision marks when you revise the document, but only when the Track Changes feature is turned on. Launch Apache OpenOffice Writer and open the document you wish to revise. Click Edit, select Changes, and then click Record to turn off the Track Changes feature.

Disabling Overtype Mode in Windows To stop overwriting the next character whenever you type a letter, press the Insert key on your keyboard. The Insert key is located to the left of the Home key on most keyboards. You are not warned in any way when you enable or disable the overtype mode.
Re: How do I stop overwriting when correcting in text doc? Alternately, there is an INS/OVR setting in the middle of the Status Bar (bottom bar) in OpenOffice. Clicking on this changes from one setting to the other.
