Use a soldering iron to remove these wires easily from the solder joints. Soldering each connection can be a tricky process, so be sure to carry out this method carefully in order to prevent damage to the printed circuit board and connections.
7 Circuit Board Troubleshooting Techniques Check for signs of intermittent loss of power. Inspect for burn marks or signs of overheating. Look for any malfunctioning components. See if there is any resulting corrosion or damage. Test the PCB with a multimeter.
A scalpel/xacto blade (preferably new, fresh and sharp) can be used in a drill-like motion to cut the trace, rather than a cutting motion. Place the tip of the blade on the trace, press down lightly and twist the knife. The tip will dig in and cut the trace. Be careful not to go too deep on multi-layer boards!
Heat the solder by using the soldering iron until it starts to melt. Try nudging the pins with the soldering iron to move the solder away from the joints. Pull the components you want to remove with the pliers. Make sure to apply the pressure at the tips (not the bodies) to avoid damaging the components.
The damaged trace should be cut away and removed using a cutting tool, being careful not to damage any surrounding traces, components and contacts.
In electronics, a signal trace or circuit trace on a printed circuit board (PCB) or integrated circuit (IC) is the equivalent of a wire for conducting signals. Each trace consists of a flat, narrow part of the copper foil that remains after etching.
Using 100% Acetone (nail polish remover), wipe down the board to remove the ink over top the copper trails.
Rework The act of reprocessing non-complying product, through the use of original or alternate equivalent processing, in a manner that assures compliance of the product with applicable drawings or specifications. Repair Action on a nonconforming product to make it conform to requirements.
