here I have a candle holder made of pewter unfortunately one of the arms is is broken as you can see I want to solder these together the problem is I do not have proper tool to do this this job what I would love to have is a is a torch with a very narrow flame such that I can only heat the interface of these two and then add solder into that but I do not have such a torch my torch has larger flames so if I use it I can melt all the areas surrounding it so that is not the optimum my plan is to create two small hole one here and one into that and add a pin into this so then at least there is a support by that pin and then I use a normal soldering iron to add the solder on the interface and hopefully I managed to create a good bond between the two pieces okay so here is my dream ale the drill bit is one millimeter and so first Iamp;#39;m going to create a hole into this part and then I will create a hole into the main candle holder the rotation speed of the dream L you want to set it at

In conclusion, if your soldering iron tip wont tin, it is likely due to oxidation, the wrong type of solder, or the temperature being too low. To fix the issue, you can try cleaning the tip, using the right type of solder, and adjusting the temperature of the soldering iron.
A clean unoxidised tip is tinned by applying a little solder and flux. A wet small sponge, often supplied with soldering equipment, can be used to wipe the tip. For lead-free solder a slightly more aggressive cleaning, with brass shavings, can be used.

Always tin your tips This protective layer prevents your soldering iron tip from oxidising. It also makes soldering easier, as the layer creates a heat connection between your tip and the part you are soldering, which increases the efficiency of the heat transfer. Before you tin your tip, make sure it is clean and dry.
Keep your tips tinned regularly, from the first time you use it until the time you dispose of it. Again, this can help for not only the connection but also for the longevity of the tips and the soldering iron.
