Note that if Excels data updates, the PowerPoint chart wont update automatically. To update the data inside of an embedded Excel file, you can right-click the chart and choose Edit Data from the menu. This will open an embedded Excel spreadsheet inside the PowerPoint file where you can edit the data in the chart.
In PowerPoint, click File Info Edit links to Files. Turn on the Automatically Update checkbox and try again.
Select your chart in PowerPoint. From the Chart Tools menu, click Design, then the Refresh Data button.
Open a slide with a table, click on the table and the Layout tab appears. After selecting the Layout tab there are options available to modify rows, columns, merge cells, change cell size, modify the alignment, the table size and arrange the table position.
In PowerPoint, under Chart Tools, on the Design tab, in the Data group, click Refresh Data.
Method Open the PowerPoint report that is linked to an Excel file. From the Chartrics toolbar, click on the Report Update drop-down menu Select Recalculate.
Select the table. After you select it, the Table Design and Layout tabs will appear. Next to Table Design, go to Layout Sort. In the dialog box, choose how youd like to sort the table.
Or, once PowerPoint is open, you can also update each chart or table individually. In the presentation, select the linked object, right-click it and hit Update link, like in the screenshot below. The Excel file does not need to be open.
