In this video, we will demonstrate how to create a sheet metal part from a solid part. First, to create the solid, draw a sketch around the assembly from one side. This sketch is the silhouette of the sheet metal casing, from this angle. Flip the assembly 90 degrees to view it from the side, and move the sketch out in front of the assembly. From this same side view, draw a sketch around the assembly. This will be the silhouette of the sheet metal casing from this angle. View the assembly from the top and move the new sketch out to the side of the assembly. Select one of the sketches and extrude it past the assembly. Do the same for the other sketch as well. Make sure they fully intersect each other but are not united. Select both solids and use the command Intersect. You are now left with the intersection between the two extrusions and the basic shape of the casing. Isolate the Solid. Use the Shell command to remove the bottom face of the solid and hollow it out, with a wall thickness
