Adjust the change display settings To choose your display settings, open the Track Changes window and select the option for Show Markup. Then click on the button labeled Balloons to open a list of display settings, and pick the option that aligns with how you want to display your changes.

Select the text you want to revise, and use the Track Changes feature to mark up the document. This feature can be accessed by clicking the Review tab in the top navigation bar and selecting Track Changes. Make the necessary changes to the text. Turn on the redlining feature In the open document, navigate your cursor to the toolbar at the top of the page and click on the Review tab. This provides access to several modifications and revision tools, such as spell check and proofing language. Enable the redline feature by clicking the Track Changes icon.
Select Review Display for Review. Select the option you want: Simple Markup points out where changes are made with a red line in the margin. All Markup shows all edits with different colors of text and lines.
Replies (3)  Click on the Review tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen. In the Tracking section, click on the drop-down arrow next to Show Markup. Uncheck the boxes next to Comments and Insertions and Deletions. To remove the gray boxes in the right-hand margin, click on the View tab in the ribbon.
