Answer and Explanation: George does not die in Of Mice and Men. He executes Lennie after Lennie murders Curleys wife. Lennies death is framed as a kindness. If he fell into the hands of the other ranchers, he would be treated like a base criminal.
George is a small, quick-witted man; his intelligence contrasts with Lennies throughout the book; as does his size. George often has to think quickly in order to cover up for Lennies mistakes.
Unlike Lennie, George is a dynamic character, meaning his thoughts and actions develop throughout the course of the story. Though he is a seemingly harsh man, he cares about Lennie. His sense of responsibility evolves from being responsible for Lennie to being responsible to everybody around them, as we will later see.
Unlike Lennie, however, George does change as the story progresses. The reader learns that he is capable of change and growth during his conversation with Slim, during which he admits that he once abused Lennie for his own amusement.
Some critics believe George represents that doomed man who longs to return to Eden. His one chance to avoid that fate is his relationship with Lennie, which makes them different from the other lonely men. But despite this companionship, at the end of the book, George is fated to be once again alone.
George is the character that changes the most. He realizes at the conclusion of the story that Lennie will never change. Since Lennies violence has escalated into murder, George must give up his dream of a farm and kill Lennie.
In the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, the most complex character that occurs in the book is George Milton. George Milton is the protagonist in the story and is quick tempered when dealing with Lennie. He is like a father figure for massive but slow-processed Lennie.
Explanation: In John Steinbecks novel Of Mice and Men, George initially is reluctant to allow Candy to join in their dream of owning a house as it was originally a private dream shared between George and Lennie. However, when he discovers that Candy has some saved money, George changes his mind.
